CDL-A Team Driver Job Overview
- Hit the road with the right partner. Bring your pre-existing team or let Smokey Point match you with a compatible teammate based on location, schedule, and lifestyle for a smooth, long-term fit.
- Competitive base team pay. Teams earn a base pay of 68-74 CPM combined (34-37 CPM per driver) for all miles on every load.
- Higher earning potential for teams. Estimated annual earnings range from $85,000 to $128,000 per driver ($170,000 - $256,000 per team), including base pay and bonuses, based on 2026 year-to-date earnings of full-time team drivers.*
- Freight that rewards the skill. Haul unique flatbed freight that puts your experience to work.
- Modern trucks, road-ready comfort. Drive late-model Kenworth and Volvo trucks equipped with APUs, inverters, and refrigerators built for comfort and reliability on long hauls.
Over Dimensional Flatbed Driver Overview
- Pay that rewards specialized drivers. Earn a base of 59-64 CPM based on verified flatbed experience. In 2026, our solo OD drivers are on pace to earn an average of $84,000, and our top 20% average $110,000 (year-to-date gross pay, projected to year-end).*
- Bonus miles that add up. Earn a monthly performance bonus of 1-4 CPM on all miles, earning 1 CPM for each 1,000 miles you run over your monthly mileage minimum.
- Dedicated lanes that keep you moving. Run dedicated lanes with some lanes running to Ontario, Canada, with predictable routes built around a dedicated account.
- Home time you can count on. Run 2-3 weeks at a time with 3.5-4 days home to reset and recharge before your next run.
Extras That Add Up
- Orientation pay ($1,750 per driver, paid in two installments)
- Layover pay ($150/day if no load or 24hr downtime)
- Detention pay ($20/hr after 4 hrs, max 8 hrs per day)
- Clean inspection bonus ($75 Level 1, $50 Level 2, $25 Level 3)
- Driver referral bonus ($1,500 per hired team, $500 per hired solo driver)

- Paid time off / vacation: New employees receive 40 hours of vacation leave per year.

- Valid Class A CDL
- 1+ years OTR experience OR 6+ months flatbed experience
Over-Dimensional Drivers
- Valid Class A CDL
- 1+ year of 10'-wide flatbed experience within the last 5 years
- TWIC/Hazmat preferred
